No obligation Phone Consultation - For In Person or Online Counselling

Please do text, email, or phone for a confidential free Initial Phone Consultation to find out how how counselling can help you as an adult or young person, and as an opportunity to ask any questions. It is a useful time for me to take all information required, leaving the first session admin free for you to talk.

This is a good time for us both to see if we are happy to work together,to ensure a successful counselling experience and outcome for you. If I consider you may be suited to another professional therapist, we can discuss finding you the right help.

Questions about In Person Sessions or Counselling Online

Need to avoid Stairs or require Disabled Access?
Swansea Practice has downstairs counselling rooms but wheelchair access due to the age of the building is rather narrow, so please check access arrangements so I may help you.

How does counselling work and how can it help?
The Benefits of Therapeutic Counselling and How can Counselling Help?

Length of Sessions?
A counselling session is 50 minutes. Extended 90 minutes is recommended for first sessions when there is much to bring to this initial meeting and provides a good basis to start from, or on occasions it can be good time spent for a one off session.

How many Sessions?
Everyone has different issues, needs and goals, so as a unique individual the number of sessions you will benefit from will vary. For example 4-6 sessions is usual to work with mild to moderate issues, however, every client situation requires an individual therapeutic approach and timescale, which benefits from ongoing review during therapy.

Frequency of Sessions?
Having sessions regularly on a weekly basis is recommended to gain maximum benefit. Follow up sessions are helpful at longer intervals as required for continued support, review of progress, or personal development work.

Ending Counselling Therapy
You are under no obligation to continue sessions at any stage, however I recommend we discuss and prepare towards an ending session to maximise the benefits of therapy and ensure ethical and safe practice in our work we have explored together.

Privacy of Therapy Rooms
I have two practice locations (Maps) chosen for their suitability to provide clients privacy and comfort within professional surroundings.

Privacy of Online Counselling Session
I can help you to quickly set up your preferred video calling platform such as WhatsApp or Zoom ready to use for our sessions which you can use privately wherever is most convenient for you - even from the car if preferred. We can discuss all scenarios and make sure you get the best out of sessions whatever your circumstances and schedule.

How to Book a Therapy Session
You may phone or text me on the number provided via this link Contact Me or Contact Form. We can then discuss your needs with a free initial phone consultation or arrange a suitable time to do so. A session can then be booked as quickly as you require within a day or two, subject to availability.

Initial Phone Consultation?
I offer this free of charge so we can discuss all aspects about how I can help you and about setting up sessions whether in person or online with an easily used video calling platform such as WhatsApp or Zoom. It is a useful time for me to take all information required, leaving the first session free for you to talk.

What if I need to Cancel a Session?
Of course this happens, and sessions can be rearranged with no charge, but I do ask for a notice period of 48hrs, otherwise the full session fee is chargeable.

Session Fees, Booking & FAQs. Client Comments Experiences of Counselling

I work to the strict ethical code of the BACP so I assure you that discussions between us on the phone or in sessions are discreetly conducted and confidential. My aim is that we may enjoy a working relationship built on mutual trust and respect.

However, certain professional situations require me to discuss my work:-

For instance when attending Clinical Supervision, although client identity will always remain anonymous. This is required by my Professional Body the BACP.

If I consider during therapy that you or others parties may be at risk of harm I would need to assess whether to take safeguarding measures such as contacting your GP or outside agencies, and talk this through with you of course.

If I consider that you may benefit from seeing an alternative therapist concerning specific issues at any time we can discuss this together.

If any of this issue concerns you in any way please let me know at any stage when I can help answer any queries, perhaps at the Initial Consultation. Contact Me to discuss.

If you are in crisis and need urgent support or are experiencing suicidal thoughts please contact your GP (day or out of hours line) who is there to support you and who will be able to provide suitable help, as will your Hospital emergency department. MIND - Mental Health Helpline charity have a 24 hour helpline: 0300 123 3393 or talk to The Samaritans with urgent or non-urgent support at any time FREE on @92
